maxximum waterfallz

In the north-east of Argentina and southwest of Brazil there are the Iguazu falls. They are really big. Even bigger than Niagra falls, aparently. These pictures are of some of the action. This one is of the biggest part, but this photo is only the tip of the iceberg, my camera lacked the zoom for such a massive operation. Also these photos arn't the best ones taken. the ones that looked good initially now look pink, which is strange.

This photo is not a pink one, but it still isn't that great. This was one of the tame waterfalls that kids were launching off. We forgot our togs, so we didn't do any launches

This is one of the totally gay pink photos. If the waterfalls were actually this colour they would dominate all other waterfalls. but alas, they are boring old brown.

This is a nice photo of Penny with a rainbow coming from her heart, suggesting that the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is a symbolic one and can be found in the heart of a loved one, or that she has nice breasts. You can make your own mind up.

This photo is of the dangers of travelling on the slowest train in the world. It was so slow that Kyle Mills actually bowled faster than it. Lucky we didn't stick any extremities out of the yellow lines or we would have been screwed.

This one is of the worlds biggest rodent called a coitis or something. we just called them cody's. once again I had a better one of the worlds largest pink rodent, but it wasn't as good.

Untill next time, keep listening and we miss you. Especially you Dave.

kickin' it

Hello again everyone,
It is Cameron, having taken over the duties as cheif blogger, it is my responsibility to share with you some sweet parties we went to in Buenos Aires. This is us at Emanuel's house. He is in the middle in the blue, the guy who looks 30 but is actually 21. Some one bought some whiskey to the party and we were told it was some of Argentina's best and was here in our honour (the next day we saw it at the supermarket for 10pesos). These are some before and after shots of us drinking it. The reason we are smiling in the second one is not because we are happy with the taste, we are just happy to be alive.

At this point in the night it was about 3am and we thought this was a pretty sweet party, then we left Emanuel's because it wasn't actually the party, it was just pre-drinks or something. So we turned up at what can only be described as a mansion, where there was a door man, WITH A LIST. We wern't on the list. But we did some quick talking and apparently no one is on the list.

These rad pictures are of people dancing to one of the two DJs at this party. There we at least 200 people there.

But out of those people at least 3 of them were infact robots. The middle robot is Bruno, his robotic body was affected the worst from the whiskey earlier in the evening and if you pay close attention to the first photo you will notice that he is drinking water or motor oil not whiskey.

This is Me, Nicolas, Penny, Marco and Craig. I havn't dribbled on myself or anything, it is the result of plunging my head into an ice bucket as the result of a lost bet. See below.

We generally stay up long enough for the trains to start running again so we save money on taxis. What is even more amazing is that this was only Friday night, so on Saturday we went to an even bigger dance party at an even bigger house with an even bigger door man. Instead of having beer just around the place in buckets, this place had a bar. It was awesome. But my camera ran out of batteries, which is lucky because it would have blown your minds

These are just some other photos of the night, the first is Emanual argueing with me over a paper scissor rock game, next is Nacho and Emanuel, below is Nicolas me and Marco doing some more sweet moves on the dance floor. The last one pretty much sums everything up. Yep, it is a horse wearing a gas mask....

Neuquen

Hello,
It's Cameron, I am going to tell you some things about Neuquen. First of all this city is palendromic, which excited everyone so much, especially me, as I just couldn't wait to get home and tell my friends doing BA's in english. In this town the don't give you two pillows for your double bed, they just give you one really long one. This is me looking confused about the matter because I thought that it was Craig's fold out bed. Craig's bed turned out to be smaller. There wasn't much to do here especially in the day time, so Craig made us play swipe out.. again.

On the last day we finally got to see some dinosaurs. These ones were actually rather friendly but Penny walked into their breeding territory, hence their aggresivness towards her. Unfortunatly we didn't speak enough spanish to explain the situation to them either, but some quick thinking by Craig resolved the situation with shades of Richard Dean Anderson's 'MacGyver'.

This one is of the biggest dino ever found..ever! Even bigger than those real sweet ones that made it out to space before the asteroid hit. My camera didn't even have enough zoom to get all of it in the picture. It is called Argentinosaur, named after some guy called Billy Argentine, or something. After we went to this museum we were sitting outside and this drunken hobo spoke to us. It was strange. From his ramblings we managed to deduce that he is Argentinian and we are not.

These photos are, firstly, of me with some little dino's. Unlike the ones outside and despite their appearance these ones are dead. The other photo is of Penny mighty mophing into a GIGANTOSAURUS. They wouldn't let her on the bus so she morphed back.

San Martin de los Andes

This was our final stop on the Seven Lakes route. Some lady at the bus station gave Craig this number to call for like a hostel kind of thing, it was a little weird so we tried all the hostels first, they were all full. So we spent ages trying to find this place and it turned out to be a self-contained room attached to someone else´s house. It was pretty sweet and real cheap. And so nice to be back sleeping on beds and be able to just wear pjs. For the last couple of lakes I was wearing 2pairs of socks, pj pants under trackpants, a singlet, a t-shirt, a polypro and a jumper to bed. And was still freezing.

We stayed here only one night and then headed to Neuquen to see some dino´s before heading back to Beunos Aires. I think Cam and Craig are keen to do some updating of Neuquen and Buenos Aires and maybe the falls too. Right now we´re back in BA, got some football games to go to this weekend and hopefully head to Uruguay for a night next week. Leave to come home in 9days.

Lago Hermoso

Lago Hermoso was possibly my favourite. I was pretty unhappy about being here at the start - the weather was miserable still and I hadn´t slept much in the last 5nights because it had been so cold. But on the second day here it cleared up and the lake was really warm and it had a really nice waterfall.

This is my first official launch of the trip.

Cam was pretty happy about being here too. And, infact, so was Craig. This is where the aussie-great-mates photo was taken. Everyone´s great mates at Lago Hermoso.

This is the top of the waterfall, which until 2 days ago was the biggest I had seen in Argentina.

This was the last place we were going to camp so Craig´s attempt to beat me was purely for pride. He failed. A time of 9minutes 9seconds. Craig got some advertising work endorsing the new holden - comes with an automatic choke.

Lago Falkner

Lago Falkner was quite nice. For the first 6 hours there I was under the impression I had to pay 3pesos everytime I wanted to use the toilet and was busy wallowing in the injustice of being female. Turns out you just had to pay to use the shower. The boys still didn´t bother.

I still wasn´t feeling 100% better on our first day there and fell asleep on the beach. When I woke up I was buried.

We knew that Pachi´s friend Mito was doing the Seven Lakes route at the same time as us going the opposite was but we had been unable to contact them because there was hardly ever reception.
The best part of Lago Falkner was that we stumbled across them, they arrived the same day as we did. It was great because we partyed with them (and the rest of the campground - people don´t go to bed until around 4-6am) that night and then when it rained the next day (did I mention we bought a 100peso tent that didn´t have a fly?) we huddled into their tent with them and ate candy.
The photo is of one of Mito´s friends ¨Fireball¨. He taught us how to make up drinks of mate and gave us crackers because we had no breakfast.
Tent errection - here I had to go again because of my third place status. I wowed everyone with a time of 9minutes 7seconds. Craig had next tent duty.

Pichi Traful

Pichi Traful is by the river which runs into the lake by Villa Traful. From here until San Martin there was nothing around except for the camping grounds. We bought all the food we had when we were in Villa la Angostura so were doomed to pasta and soup meals from here on out.

They had cows and horses all over the place in the camping ground. Cam made me get close to this one. The face I´m pulling is genuine fear.

I got sick at this camping ground. Had been waiting for it to happen since we got to Argentina though. I spent most of my time sleeping in the sun (too cold to sleep at night with our $40peso sleeping bags) and playing ¨wipe out¨with Cam and Craig. Craig´s real bad at it. You would have thought it was a game based largely on luck until you played with Craig.

When Craig wasn´t losing card games he was jumping off banks into the river.

Cam prefers the staple.

Also Cam´s tent time was 11minutes 10 seconds putting me in last place and meaning I have to set up the tent until I beat Craig´s score.

Villa Traful - photos

Villa Traful

We´re getting too far behind and want to update about what we´re doing now so I will run quickly through the rest of the lakes.
First up some photos of Cam and Craig jumping off stuff. This lake had pretty warm water and was generally pretty sweet. We also made some sweet Argentinian friends because they had to translate for the camp guy and tell us our fire was too big.
Well.. it won´t let me add more photos.. ok, so I´ll leave this one here and maybe post a montage of photos we couldn´t have now once back in BA.
My tent time - 12minutes 4seconds. However I bent a peg and got a 30second penalty putting me behind Craig.
